RV Organization Tips & Tricks

You only have limited space available to use in an RV. Even if you own a large motorhome, there is still far less space inside that motorhome than there is inside a traditional house. Knowing that you only have so much space to work with, it is important to keep yourself and your family organized when you travel. To make sure you are getting the most out of every square foot in your RV, consider the organizational tips and tricks we have provided below.

25Put Magnets to Use

To add storage to places where you wouldn’t otherwise be able to keep anything useful, try employing magnets. For instance, you may be able to affix some magnet storage under the cabinets in the kitchen section of the RV. Obviously, you won’t want to use this method to store anything large or heavy, but it can be perfect for small items.

A Spice Rack is a Must

No one likes bland food, so you are going to want to take some spices with you on the trip. However, all of those spice containers can make your cabinet a mess in a hurry. Purchase a compact spice rack to be able to bring along everything you need without wasting storage space at the same time.

Use a Container for Kitchen Cleaning Supplies

Doing dishes isn’t exactly the best part of an RV vacation, but the job needs to be done nonetheless. To make sure your kitchen cleaning gear doesn’t take over too much room, pick up a small container and slide everything neatly inside it for quick access when needed.

Maximize Outside Storage

Most RVs have some outside storage which you access, not surprising, from outside the vehicle. These are typically just big open spaces, and it is left up to you to make the most of them. If you only stack things in there one on top of the next, you are sure to be wasting space. Consider mounting some storage hooks or brackets inside this space, and even think about adding dividers to keep things orderly while on the road.

Use a Small Plastic Tub for the Bathroom

Look for a small plastic container with a lid which you can use to hold all of your items that are needed for personal hygiene. Within that plastic container, things like toothbrushes can be kept in a plastic bag to keep them away from soaps and shampoos.

Be Creative

In the end, it is really up to you to make the most of your RV storage space. Every traveling party is different in terms of what items are going to come along for the trip – so take a close look at your RV and try to stop opportunities where you can add storage. Even if you are already organized, there is a good chance that you can find more storage space on your rig if you are just willing to take some time and keep your mind open.
