  • I use after market anode rods and they have worked fine, but did not have the aftermarket one that had that turnbuckle on it, mine looked like the original with the bolt at end. I open mine two to three times a year to check it and make sure it opens and that the anode is not eaten away. I change it out when more than half eaten away, better safe than sorry.
