Prairie

The star attraction of the State Park is its prairie that stretches 150-acres. It has depression marshes that differs in size from 1 acres up to 50 acres. It also has various species of wading birds for ornithologists.

Ross Prairie Trailhead

Located adjacent to the State Road 200, a mile south of County Road 484, this trailhead is managed by the Office of Greenways and Trails. Wit exclusive vehicle and equestrian parking, restrooms and picnic pavilions, the Ross Prairie Trailhead is worth an exceptional visit.

Ross Prairie Campground

Located on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway, the Ross Prairie Campground Day-use area has a large paved parking lot with a picnic pavilion. Restrooms and horse wash rack are available. The Campground, which is very popular with equestrians, has 15 pull-through sites with water and electric. Sites can handle up to 50 Amp electric loads. A bathhouse/restroom, dump station and two horse wash racks are located in the campground. Gates close at 7 P.M. during daylight savings time.
